The International Rapid Chess Tournament "Fizmat Chess Open 2023" was organized by the FIZMAT Almaty with the support of the Endowment Fund "Fizmat" and the Kazakhstan Chess Federation.

More than 300 students (grades 1-9) from 6 countries: FIDE, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan participated in the tournament.

The prize fund of the tournament was 1,000,000 tenge. The main prizes of the competition are 2 sponsorship grants for education from the FIZMAT: 1 grant for a boy with the best results, 1 grant for a girl with the best results.

The tournament was held in 10 rounds under the Swiss system with FIDE rating calculations, with a game time of 10 minutes + 2 seconds per move.

The award ceremony was held with the participation of the honorable guest, international grandmaster, and President of the Almaty Chess Federation, Zhansaya Abdumalik.
