WHAT IS AN ENDOWMENT FUND?

The Public Foundation "Fizmat Endowment Fund" was established on April 13, 2017, by the decision of the Board of Trustees of the non-profit joint-stock company "Republican Physics and Mathematics School."

The mission of the Fizmat Endowment Fund is to ensure the financial sustainability of both short-term and long-term projects that are critical to the development of the school but may not always have a stable source of funding. The Endowment Fund is designed to serve the school throughout the entire existence of the Republican Physics and Mathematics School (FIZMAT) and stands as one of the key drivers in establishing FIZMAT as a world-class institution.

INVESTMENT STRATEGY

The success of the investment strategy is ensured by FIZMAT's distinguished alumni and the professionals who serve on the fund’s governing bodies. The investment objective is to generate a stable annual return of at least 8%.

Endowment funds first originated in the United States and were used to provide non-governmental support to educational institutions. Today, the endowment fund of Harvard University exceeds $35 billion, while those of Yale and Stanford universities each exceed $10 billion.
