WHAT IS AN ENDOWMENT FUND?

The Public Fund "Fizmat Endowment Fund" was established on April 13, 2017, by the decision of the Board of Trustees of the non-profit joint-stock company "Republican Physics and Mathematics School".

The Fizmat Endowment Fund aims to ensure the financial sustainability of short-term and long-term projects that are critically important for the development of the school but do not always have a stable source of income. The endowment fund will serve the school throughout the entire existence of RFMSh and is one of the key drivers in establishing RFMSh as a world-class school.

ABOUT THE FUND

INVESTMENT STRATEGY

The guarantee of an effective investment strategy is the outstanding graduates of RFMSh and professionals who are part of the fund's governing bodies. The investment goal is to generate an annual stable income of at least 8% per year.

Endowment funds first emerged in the USA and were used to provide non-governmental support to educational institutions. Currently, Harvard University's endowment fund exceeds $35 billion, while those of Yale and Stanford exceed $10 billion each.

What is the advantage of an endowment fund over a regular fund?

The fund's endowment capital collected through deposits is never spent and is essentially “eternal”, which in turn guarantees a constant stable investment income for the needs of the RFMS.

A typical charitable foundation often uses up the contributions it has collected at one time and needs new contributions to continue its activities.

Thanks to the operating principle of endowment funds, the Fizmat Endowment Fund will be able to help create financial stability and serve as a long-term source of funding to support teachers and students of RFMS and for the development of RFMS as a world-class school.
